Joshua S. Koons
Director of Business Development
Current Responsibilities
Mr. Koons has been working as consultant for nearly a decade, in areas ranging from finance to procurement solutions. His background in consulting and sales helps him to provide strong results for his clients. Leveraging his communication skills, industry knowledge and superior work ethic, Mr. Koons has been hired by Adirondack Technical Solutions as Director of Business Development. His responsibilities will be new business development and customer service.
Professional Experience
Prior to working for Adirondack Technical Solutions, Mr. Koons worked as a Senior Associate for the Aeon Nexus Corporation. During his time with the company he held a lead role on projects in the public and private sector, providing grant management; spend analytics, platform development, software training, data enrichment, and strategic sourcing solutions to his clients. His performance has provided value and savings in a diversified set of industries such as economic development, oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation, information technology, pharmaceutical, and K-12 education. Utilizing reverse auction technology, spend analytics, and data enrichment, he has enabled significant levels of savings while making it possible for his clients to most efficiently utilize resources. His platform development and deployment of Purchase–to-Pay systems has established both hard and soft savings through the availability and accessibility of pre-negotiated pricing, streamlined ordering, and paperless approval processes. Mr. Koons’ grant management experience comes as a result of having facilitated and administered various processes for the attainment of federal grants to support the funding of projects and investments. Mr. Koons puts to use his industry knowledge, product expertise, and professionalism while serving clients in the public and private sector.
Before working with Aeon Nexus, Mr. Koons worked in the financial sector for four years as a Senior Mortgage Consultant with Nivek Funding Group and 1st Priority Mortgage. During his time in the industry he developed management skills and financial knowledge while overseeing multiple offices with a focus on commercial and residential financing. Through strong industry knowledge and business development skills he was able to provide his clients with a high level of service.
Prior to Mr. Koons time working in the financial sector, he worked in the office equipment industry. As a Technical Trainer and Sales Associate, his focus was on application training and outside sales. Through facility analysis and spend assessments, Mr. Koons was able to provide solid results and maintain a high level of service and client retention. From his time in the industry, Mr. Koons gained a strong level of office supply commodity experience that has helped him excel in the areas of strategic sourcing and procurement consulting.
When not out helping his clients find the Technical Solutions that allows their businesses to operate seamlessly, Mr. Koons enjoys his time with his fiancée Dalia Baldwin and their new born son, Simon Thomas Koons. Mr. Koons enjoys his extracurricular time sailboat racing on Lake George, golfing, skiing, and snow shoeing.
Nate Decker
Sr. Network Engineer
Nate hails from central New York. Nate moved to the Capital Region in 2004 to take a position as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. From there he has gone on to work with various IT consulting firms in the region, proving himself as a top Systems Engineer/Consultant in the area.
Nate holds a number of technical certifications; Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, VMware Certified Professional, Dell Equalogic Certified Professional as well as a Certified Member of Storage Network Industry Association.
Nate and his family currently reside in Rotterdam, NY. Nate is a firm believer in “Work Hard, Play Hard.” He believes that this industry spends too much time trying to make the customer fit the “box” instead of making the “box” fit the customer. He is always up for a good laugh and sure to make you smile at one point or another.
Jon Blanchard
Systems Administrator
Jon grew up in Ticonderoga, NY and attended Indiana Wesleyan University, graduating in 2010 with a BS in youth ministry. While in school, he worked for the IT department, sparking his interest in everything technology. Since moving back to New York, he has been working as a youth pastor at Turning Point Wesleyan Church in Fort Edward. Jon has the drive and initiative to learn and sharpen his skills in the Information Technology industry. This strong drive is the reason Jon started seeking employment in the IT field.
In his spare time, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife Jocelyn and son Jeremy (1 year old). They enjoy watching movies, playing video games, and playing board games. They love to do things that make them think and learn new things.
