ADKtechs, also known as Adirondack Technical Solutions, was founded in 2005 by Jared Humiston in Argyle, New York. Before opening the company, Jared studied Computer Information Systems at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, worked as a lead engineer for Capital District IT firms, and helped develop early regional cyber security programs. That background shaped a simple point of view: small and mid-sized businesses should not have to decode technical jargon just to keep their systems running.
The company grew out of a frustration many business owners still know well. Same issue, different day. Email glitches, slow systems, random outages, tickets that disappear into a queue, and monthly IT bills that do not clearly connect to progress. ADKtechs was built to replace that reactive pattern with practical planning, plain-English communication, and steady work behind the scenes.
Today, ADKtechs serves businesses across Warren County, Saratoga County, Albany County, Washington County, Schenectady County, the Capital District, the Lower Adirondack Region, and the broader Northeast. The team supports organizations that rely on technology but do not always have the internal time, staff, or strategy to manage it well. Clients often describe the difference in simple terms: things run smoother, people are less frustrated, and someone is finally paying attention before small issues become bigger problems.
The company has also been recognized in the region, including Small Business of the Year honors in Washington County and the Steven M. Sutton Small Business of the Year recognition from the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce. Those acknowledgments matter because they reflect more than technical skill. They point to a local business that has stayed connected to the communities it serves while helping other organizations work with less friction.
